This festival is about bringing our communities together. It’s about promoting unity in the Name of Jesus, and reaching out to the hurting that are in your specific area. This will best happen if you jump in with both feet and get involved. We’ve compiled a list of various opportunities that are available both before and during the event. Of course, these are only suggestions. If you have an idea on how this festival can best suit your area, feel free to bring it up. The more personal this can be, the better!

Prayer Support:

Are you a prayer warrior? Do you know someone who is? If there is someone who specifically feels burdened for prayer, we would love to have them step in and commit to praying for this event.–This is the foundation for what we are doing.

Food Donations:

As this event goes to 9 separate communities in the Upper Peninsula and 4 communities in both lower Michigan and Indiana, we plan on feeding each community free of charge. Maybe you would think about adding to the collective? Or maybe you know a friend who can’t be there the day of the event but makes a mean potato salad, or someone who just LOVES to grill. This is one of those things that makes this event personal for your community. We want to see the food department be a huge blessing to the people that you are around every day, and what a better way then to show off your church body’s or your own talents.  Please help as we estimate feeding 200+ people including bands, servants, volunteers, and everybody else!

Share with the Community:

Our hope is that you can use this event as a chance to talk to your neighbor who you haven’t been able to connect with yet. Or the mom in the grocery store that you know needs a chance to take a break. On our website, you can download our flyer for the UPrising. You make it specific to your event and feel free to share it with everyone you know.

Band Sponsorship:

The bands that are joining up for this event are all coming under the guise that this is a free event. They are donating their time and money for gas out of their own pockets for the entire event. We sought out bands who’s hearts specifically were to reach people. Isn’t it an amazing thing to see these musicians take a step of faith because they care about the people in our communities that much?! I’m taken aback by their hearts for ministry. This makes us want to give back to these bands all the more. If you would pray about the possibility of picking a band or two to sponsor, these bands would be beyond blessed. Here are some things you can do in sponsoring a band: –pray. specifically for the event, but you could also get ahold of them now via their websites and I know they would feel more then encouraged to hear that you are praying for them as a band right now. –gift bags. Think things like gas cards, wal-mart gift cards, small food items that can be taken on the road. We have found that that small extra mile for a band can make their day or month when they’ve been on the road away from home for a long period of time.  –housing. Some bands will need housing during the event. If your house could be available, it would mean a lot to both us and the bands.

Day-of-Event Volunteers:

We desperately need people from your community to help out the day of the event. From load in to tear down, we can use anyone who like to be involved. It will give your community a chance to see that you care an awful lot about them too. Other day-of volunteer opportunities that we could use help for: –food preparation, grounds upkeep, game coordinators, clean up.  Also, this is where your ideas would come in handy. If you know the kids in your area love things like skating and you happen to be awesome at it too, maybe you could share your talents and plan on doing something skating-related for the kids on that day. Or are you a doctor who could offer quick check ups? Do you have a food pantry that you could bless those who need it on that day? The possibilities are endless, and we’re definitely open to your ideas in order to make this event personal.
